Get everything you need for your camshaft swap for your 2014+ Gen 5 5.3L L83 with the Texas Speed & Performance camshaft package! Our kit will include the following items:

 

  • Your Choice of TSP L83 VVT Camshafts
  • TSP .660" Dual Valve Spring Kit w/ PAC Springs & Titanium Retainers
  • Set of 16 7.85" TSP 3/8" Hardened Chromemoly Pushrods (25-7850-1)
  • Phaser Lock out Kit

 

 

Texas Speed is one of very few companies that is able to test and properly develop Gen 5 L83 camshafts using the camshaft phaser. As a result, it is very important that we do not release the entire specs of each 5.3L L83 camshaft. If you have additional questions about sizes & recommended use please give us a call!

The +32% fuel lobes are recommended for any setup that is running a power-adder.  The +32% fuel lobe does require a lash cap with it, so make sure it is installed during the camshaft installation!  You can include the lash cap in the appropriate drop-down menu if you are purchasing a +32% fuel lobe camshaft.

The TSP Gen 5 L83 camshafts are custom designed for applications where the AFM lifters are being removed. By removing the AFM lifters, we are able to run lobes that offer better power and performance. You will have to purchase our TSP DOD Delete Kit for any of our L83 cams. This is shown below as a related product.

Our DOD Delete Kit will include the following items:

 

  • Eight New LS7-style Lifters (Set of 16 available for additional cost)
  • Set of (4) LS2 Lifter Trays
  • GM Head Gaskets
  • Your Choice of GM Head Bolts or ARP Head Bolt/Stud Kit
  • DOD Plugs (Will NOT require the use of the Katech valley cover!)
  • GM Balancer Bolt
  • GM VVT Camshaft Bolt

 

 

All TSP Gen 5 L83 camshafts require the use of phaser Lock out kit, which is included in the Cam Package. We do recommend replacing the factory trunion in your GM rocker arms with our TSP trunion upgrade kit!


All of our TSP L83 camshafts were designed on our SuperFlow 902 engine dyno using an otherwise stock 5.3L L83 engine. We design and test many different camshafts before selecting the camshafts that we offer to our customers. This provides us with a distinct advantage of offering the best power curve possible without sacrificing overall performance, as well as knowing that what we offer is also safe and will not have any piston-to-valve clearance issues. We test our products before we sell them, so you KNOW that you are purchasing a camshaft that is proven!
